The County Hotel has been part of Hexham life for several generations.
Situated for many years in the centre of the thriving cattle market, which was one of the main features in the market town.
The County offered the farmers a convenient bar to finalise the many transactions agreed daily, and an act of parliament detailed on a sign in the entrance, allowed the licensing laws to be "passed over".
The County was re-opened in 2000 after two years of closure and dereliction, after complete restoration.
Today The County is a comfortable and friendly place to stop whilst exploring Northumberland and Durham, or doing business in the town and surrounding area.
